Economic Closed-Loop Model of Polystyrene Packaging Recycling
The North American business unit of Finnish packaging company Huhtamaki has replaced polystyrene foam packaging with fiber egg cartons to hold and transport eggs.
Huhtamaki has extensive global experience in the design and operation of molded fiber products and produces the Chinet brand of fiber tableware. The molded pulp egg carton is made from 100% recycled materials, which is environmentally friendly but adds cost. Polystyrene has a huge value in the market as packaging because of the good properties of foam, such as waterproofing, shock absorption, etc., and most importantly, the price of polystyrene is very low. For merchants, polystyrene is an excellent choice for product packaging. But in the past, people tended to use polystyrene packaging as disposable packaging and usually discarded it in landfills, which caused serious pollution to the environment. Polystyrene packaging is actually a type of sustainable packaging that is worth more in the recycling market than recycled goods like cardboard.
INTCO Recycling has implemented the complete close loop of polystyrene packaging recycling, from polystyrene waste to recycled frame products such as flooring, picture frames, building skirting and more. Foam is composed of 90% air, so it is bulky, takes up a lot of storage space and costs a lot of transportation costs. Therefore, INTCO Recycling developed the GREENMAX polystyrene melting machine, which is highly automated and saves customers a lot of labor costs. Through a professional polystyrene melting machine, the loose foam will be compressed into tight foam ingots at a ratio of 90:1 for easy transportation and storage. These foam ingots can then be processed into clean polystyrene particles through crushing, granulation and other processes, which are raw materials for making various recycled products. Meanwhile, INTCO Recycling also has mature production technology and production lines, which can process foam particles into frame products and return waste foam to people's daily lives in another form. In this way, INTCO achieves polystyrene packaging recycling that has both environmental and economic benefits.
In addition to this, INTCO Recycling is also very willing to provide the solution of polystyrene packaging recycling to global customers. We will provide customized foam recycling solutions and professional GREENMAX foam recycling machines based on the customer's actual situation and recycling needs, including foam type, density, humidity, recycling rate, etc. At the same time, we will provide foam buyback services to purchase customers' foam ingots at preferential prices, helping customers obtain return on investment in polystyrene packaging recycling.
INTCO Recycling insists on providing customers with one-stop service to help customers realize polystyrene packaging recycling and reuse, reduce environmental pollution, and create economic value for customers.
