In 2004, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) launched the Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) program to encourage residents to replace old refrigerators with new energy-efficient ones. Old refrigerators consume about five times more electricity than new ones, which not only wastes energy but also may have an impact on the environment. To this end, PG&E provides customers who return old refrigerators or freezers with a subsidy of $35 per unit (limited to 2 units). These old appliances are processed by a recycling center in Hayward, California, and about 90% of the materials can be recycled.
Ventura TV Video Appliance Center is an active participant in the PG&E project. During the delivery of about 200 refrigerators every day, a large amount of Styrofoam packaging was generated, which could only be landfilled at first, which was costly and polluted the environment. After adopting the equipment provided by GREENMAX, they not only handle the foam at any time, but also realize the transformation from waste to resource and efficient Styrofoam recycling. As a machinery supply company, GREENMAX cooperates with its parent company INTCO Recycling to not only provide customers with high-quality equipment, but also repurchase the compressed Styrofoam to achieve a closed-loop recycling system.
At the beginning, the customer purchased a total of three Styrofoam recycling machines, which were deployed in the warehouses of Hayward, Fresno and Colusa to help them recycle and process Styrofoam at any time. The Hayward and Fresno warehouses use EPS, which has super fast processing capabilities and a compression ratio of 90:1. The Colusa warehouse uses the Styrofoam compactor, which is mainly used to compress lightweight foam into high-density blocks. The volume reduction ratio is as high as 50:1. It is supported by cold pressing technology and can greatly reduce storage and transportation costs.
In addition, this technology does not require high temperature and no harmful gas emissions. It is more conducive to protecting the health of operators and environmental safety, and has become the first choice of more large companies. At the same time, the Styrofoam compactor is an energy-saving equipment that achieves efficient compression with the lowest energy consumption.
Styrofoam compactor injects green power into PG&E's old refrigerator recycling project, solves the foam problem in the recycling process, makes foam no longer a burden, but a resource, and realizes full coverage of environmental protection from transportation to recycling. So, join us and promote a green future together!
