Electrolux Continues to Purchase GREENMAX EPS Melting Machine to Dispose Waste EPS foam

Electrolux AB  is a Swedish multinational home appliance manufacturer, headquartered in Stockholm. It is consistently ranked the world's second largest appliance maker by units sold, after Whirlpool. Electrolux Group is a leading global appliance company that has shaped living for the better for more than 100 years. They reinvent lifetime taste, care and wellbeing experiences for millions of people, always striving to be at the forefront of sustainability in society through our solutions and operations. In 2022 Electrolux Group had sales of SEK 135 billion and employed 51,000 people around the world.

In this case, we mainly share the EPS foam recycling situation of Australian and New Zealand companies. Electrolux Australia started recycling EPS foam about 10 years ago. At that time, they installed other brands of foam compactor and balers in the distribution center for foam recycling. The original foam recycling equipment is not only inefficient, but also has a compression ratio of only 30:1~40:1. The overall recycling effect is poor, which also makes the entire EPS foam recycling project confusing.

In 2022, Electrolux Melbourne Company will replace the recycling equipment with GREENMAX EPS melting machine M-C100. The machine is designed and manufactured by GREENMAX (offered by INTCO Recycling), a global foam recycling expert. The Electrloux team is satisfied with the compression ratio and recycling effect of this newly purchased EPS melting machine.

GREENMAX EPS melting machine using hot melt technology, which is different from the equipment previously used by Electrloux. Its main recycling steps are roughly: First crush the foam into small pieces of 20-30 mm, and the heating element will melt the small pieces and remove them from the extruded from the machine. With this technology, the air can be 100% evacuated.

The compression ratio of GREENMAX EPS melting machine can reach 90:1. The density of molten EPS foam material is 600~800:1. The Electrloux team is very pleased with this new technology. In 2023, they have ordered 3 more EPS melting machines for their warehouses in Auckland, Sydney and Brisbane. In addition, INTCO Recycling is also the world's largest end user of waste foam, helping to achieve a closed loop of recycling.
