EPS recycling rate owes partly to GREENMAX foam recycling machines

There have been a lot of disputes about EPS recycling, EPS waste is not accepted by many recyclers due to the high shipping costs and low economic efficiency. But the root cause of these problems is the lack of professional equipment.

Actually, EPS is a high recyclable material, it is a plastic type that can be heated, melted and molded into many items by being forced into a stacking extruder. However, the most common recycling method for EPS is compaction. In many cases, it is uneconomic to collect and transport such bulky material.

The improvement in EPS recycling owes partly to EPS recycling machines. In fact, some counties in the United States have adopted effective foam recycling machines to help them recycle EPS foam waste.

GREENMAX MARS series is a kind of thermal EPS densifier, which uses heat to melt waste EPS into a taffy-like state. The foam is extruded in a rope shape and transferred to the container. Just one person is required to mold the foam into shapes that can be stacked on a pellet. The EPS hot melt works well at a mixed density and produces "spindles" that can be stored outdoors in rain and wind.

Another efficient EPS recycling machine is the GREENMAX APOLO series foam compactor. Pieces of foam waste are put into the compactor, which will be crushed into pieces, compressed and squeezed the air out. GREENMAX EPS compactor can reduce the foam volume at a ratio of 50:1, after compaction, foam blocks can be used to make pellets for injection molding applications. The compressed foam is particularly beneficial in situations where foam needs to be transported to recycling facilities.

It is believed that with the wide application of GREENMAX EPS recycling machines, the recycling rate of EPS material will be greatly improved worldwide.
