Foam Recycling Improves the Qualification Rate of Foam Packaging Production
The Franklin County Solid Waste Management District is working with the towns of Leverett, Montague, Northfield, and Wendell, providing a free community recycling service for EPS packaging materials. In 2023, the foam recycling event held by the towns of Montague and Northfield diverted 90 cubic yards of foam from landfills.
Most of the EPS packaging materials collected by the community are left behind by residents when shopping. Because EPS has shock absorption, a low price, and is water-proof, it is the best choice for packaging high-value or fragile products. In the production process of foam packaging, there are lots of unqualified foam packaging and leftover materials produced. So, how should EPS packaging material manufacturers deal with this part of unqualified foam? Obviously, discarding directly is a wrong choice. Actually, through foam recycling, waste EPS foam can be decomposed into primitive form and then reintroduced into the production of foam packaging. In addition, EPS collected by four communities can also become new packaging materials by foam recycling and appear in the market.
Foam recycling can significantly improve the qualification rate of foam packaging production, reuse waste foam, and save raw materials, which has both economic and environmental benefits. The entire foam recycling process is simple and straightforward. The foam waste is first collected and then compressed into compact EPS blocks through an EPS compactor. It is then processed into foam particles, which can be put back into the reproduction of foam packaging. Recycled foam can be used in many other situations, such as eco-friendly picture frames, flooring and baseboard trim, and more. Foam recycling allows foam packaging companies to form a closed-loop packaging production process, saving raw material consumption from the source, avoiding waste, and generating better financial returns.
The quality of recycled products depends on the quality of recycled foam pellets, which in turn is determined by a professional EPS compactor. INTCO Recycling is the global leader in high-tech manufacturing through foam recycling, and its GREENMAX EPS compactor is sold to more than 100 countries around the world. Now, the use of foam recycled materials has become a global trend. We can develop the most suitable total foam recycling solution for customers, help customers achieve closed-loop recycling of foam, and provide related additional services, such as foam buy-back services.
Foam recycling is a cyclic process that includes foam recycling and reuse. In addition to foam packaging production, there are many companies that will benefit from foam recycling. INTCO Recycling hopes that more companies will realize the many benefits of foam recycling and work together to maintain a good ecological environment.
