GREENMAX EPP Densifier Produces High-quality Recycled Materials

The Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR) has announced an expanded plastics recycling program, primarily for polypropylene (PP) base resins, which provides packaging manufacturers with a platform for recycling and reuse of waste plastics and helps increase high-quality post-consumer recycled material (PCR).

APR's expansion plan covers all key aspects of plastic recyclability, including PP containers, bottles and overall PP packaging, ensuring that different aspects of the polypropylene recycling process are addressed and optimized. The recycling plan also plays an important role in promoting EPP recycling. EPP material is expanded polypropylene, which is foamed using high-density PP material, and the two have many of the same properties. EPP foam involves a variety of application scenarios, including packaging, automotive parts, etc. At the same time, EPP is a fully recyclable material that is environmentally friendly and pollution-free. EPP recycling can transform waste EPP materials into reusable resources and achieve sustainable development.

EPP foam has a low density but relatively high strength. Directly transporting it by truck and container will obviously cost a lot of money but be inefficient. Therefore, the first step in EPP foam recycling is to use an EPP densifier to reduce the volume of the material. GREENMAX EPP densifier Mars Series, affiliated with INTCO Recycling, uses high-temperature hot melting technology to compress the foam. The EPP densifier is equipped with a three-stage temperature control system to ensure that the EPP foam is melted very thoroughly at the third-stage temperature, while preventing the water in the foam from affecting the EPP recycling. If there is liquid in the EPP material, the liquid will evaporate at high temperature, but it will also reduce the temperature in the compaction bin of the EPP densifier, which is not conducive to the subsequent EPP foam recycling. The three-stage temperature control system of GREENMAX EPP densifier can effectively ensure that the influence of moisture on the temperature only occurs in the first stage and will not affect the subsequent recycling, ensuring the complete melting of EPP. In addition to ensuring the high quality of compressed EPP foam ingots, the machine has also won the favor of many consumers in the market because of its high compression ratio of 90:1.

INTCO Recycling can meet both the market demand for recycled EPP foam and the international requirements for recycled material quality. We customize the design of EPP recycling solution according to the actual needs of customers, such as foam density, humidity, foam output and factory space, etc. The EPP foam waste situation of each customer is different. Some foams are hard, some are dense, and some customers have requirements for the size of recycling machines due to the compact factory space. INTCO Recycling will tailor the most suitable EPP foam recycling for customers, and design and build the EPP densifier to meet the market demand for high-quality recycled materials.

If you have any questions about EPP recycling, INTCO Recycling is happy to answer them for you.
