GREENMAX Foam Pelletizer Produce High-quality Particles, more Competitive in the Market

The town of Avon has received a $111,105 grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Recycled Resource Economic Opportunities (RREO) program, which will promote the implementation of Styrofoam recycling. This Styrofoam recycling project will improve sustainable development throughout Eagle County and is Colorado's first plastic recycling program.

Styrofoam waste in Eagle County is directly disposed of in the landfill. The Styrofoam recycling project requires the establishment of specialized infrastructure, which can collect, process and reuse foam waste. Foam waste is a renewable resource that, after processing, can be used to produce new environmentally friendly products, reducing dependence on various primary resources. With the help of this grant funding, the Town of Avon will purchase Styrofoam recycling equipment from Foam Cycle to collect and compress foam waste, increasing recycling opportunities and reducing waste of community resources. The processed foam can be sold to local recyclers to make products such as picture frames, environmentally friendly furniture, and flower pots.

After compaction, the waste foam needs to be broken down into foam particles through a foam pelletizer before it can be put into the production of environmentally friendly products. Many consumers now tend to buy environmentally friendly products due to various environmental issues, and many countries and governments have promulgated regulations requiring the addition of a certain proportion of foam recycled materials in the production of plastic products. This not only means that Styrofoam recycling has become a trend, also means that the market for foam particles is very broad. Therefore, enterprises and communities now carrying out Styrofoam recycling not only maintain the ecology and reduce the environmental burden, but also an investment that can obtain economic benefits. The use of foam recycled particles also requires purity and quality. A professional foam pelletizer can process waste foam into clean, high-purity particles, thereby complying with usage standards and becoming more competitive in the market.

As a global leader in high-tech manufacturing through recycled materials, INTCO Recycling is able to provide an integrated Styrofoam recycling solution and has researched the professional GREENMAX foam pelletizer. The foam pelletizer is highly automated and integrates functions such as crushing, compression and granulation to achieve one-stop processing of foam from waste to recycled particles. Recyclers send the waste foam into the feeding port of the foam pelletizer through the conveyor belt. It will first be broken into uniform fragments by the sharp screw cutter inside the machine. It is also equipped with a foam fragment filtering device to ensure that only 30mm-50mm fragments can enter the compression step, and the remaining fragments will be broken again by the screw. The compaction device of GREENMAX foam pelletizer uses the principle of high-temperature hot melt. The foam is melted at high temperature and then is transported and extruded into long strips through the screw. It passes through a filter along the way to filter out impurities and improve the purity of the particles. Finally, the long foam ingots will be cut into uniform particles after passing through the secondary water cooling system.

INTCO Recycling will also provide customers with particle sales solutions. We purchase foam particles at preferential prices to make mirror frames, flooring and baseboard decoration, etc., putting closed-loop Styrofoam recycling into practice.
