Increasing RPET Use in PepsiCo Expanding PET Dewatering Machine Demand

PepsiCo announced that they will increase the use of RPET in Pepsi-brand bottles including Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Aquafina. And it’s not the latest decision. In the past years, PepsiCo has been using RPET in its bottle production. By the year 2030, PepsiCo’s goal is to eliminate all virgin plastic in its drink bottles. The decision is driving the PET recycling initiative forward, which makes PET bottle dewatering machines in great demand.

PET is a kind of plastic that is commonly used in beverage bottles. PET bottles are popular due to their durability and lightweight. However, when disposed of improperly, PET can cause negative impacts on the environment such as releasing harmful chemicals and causing high costs in landfills. To achieve the sustainability goals, PepsiCo is going to roll out a new platform called CIRQU, a PET bottle collection program. The program currently collects PET bottles and cans from 250 locations across 10 states. According to the release, the use of 100% RPET bottles can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 30% per bottle, which shows the significance of PET recycling. Through PET recycling, the company can reduce reliance on virgin plastic and conserve resources. Obviously, this decision aligns with PepsiCo’s sustainability goals.

PET bottle recycling can be simple by using a bottle dewatering machine. The dewatering machines work by collecting and separating bottles from other recyclables, squashing and drying the sorted bottles, and grinding the bottles into flakes, which can then be melted down and made into new products. In fact, the production base of PepsiCo in Thailand once purchased one GREENMAX dewatering machine, which would help the Thailand Pepsi factory save 80% of transportation costs. In addition, dewater can improve production efficiency and help save disposal costs.

The GREENMAX dewatering machine provides a new way for PET bottle recycling because it is applicable for all kinds of drink bottles with plastic packages. INTCO Recycling has been working out solutions to PET recycling all the time, providing a series of dewatering machines for different needs. To achieve sustainability and protect the environment, INTCO is committed to paying more effort to the initiative of PET recycling and rebuilding a beautiful planet.
