Kalamazoo Will Hold An EPS Foam Recycling Activity for Residents’ Christmas Gift Packaging

Christmas comes on time in everyone's expectations. Everyone will receive a beautiful and agreeable gift. At the same time, there is a lot of Christmas gift packaging, especially EPS foam packaging. Should it be sent to the landfill as before, polluting the environment and wasting resources? Kalamazoo in Michigan decided to hold an EPS foam collection event on the first day of the new year and use the collected EPS foam for recycling.

Kalamazoo has sent a Twitter that calls up residents not to throw their EPS foam packaging away. The government recruited a group of volunteers collecting EPS foam for recycling at Mayors’ Riverfront Park on New Year's Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In reality, this activity is a part of a pilot raised by the Environmental Concerns Committee. In order to improve the environmental quality, ECC has put forward many pilots in different cities. After all, the traditional way of handling EPS foam has led to severe environmental problems, it’s time for people to take action.

Compared with other ways to solve EPS foam pollution, EPS foam recycling is the most gentle and effective way, and it can also bring economic benefits. If all substitutes are used, let alone whether a suitable material can be found, this will have a very big shock on the EPS foam-related industries. What’s more, EPS foam recycling can realize recycling economy and resource reuse.

Why? In fact, the raw material of EPS foam does not need to be landfilled or incinerated during the recycling process, but becomes a useful resource and re-made into new products. This is the reuse of resources. Compared with other treatment methods, the carbon footprint produced by the entire recycling process has been reduced a lot. Through the EPS foam compactor, the waste EPS foam will be compressed into blocks. Compressed blocks will be sold to recycling companies to make into framing products. So, EPS foam recycling is also cost-effective.

Now that the concept of environmental protection is getting more and more popular, EPS foam recycling will also become more and more popular. INTCO Recycling has been cultivating in the domain of EPS foam recycling for more than ten years, providing customers with GREENMAX EPS recycling machines. In the future, INTCO Recycling will continue to stick to it.
