Logistics Centers Establish Own EPS Recycling System with EPS Densifier

E-commerce is developing rapidly today, bringing great convenience to consumers. Logistics warehouses and distribution centers play a crucial role in e-commerce system, ensuring efficient transportation, precise sorting, and timely delivery of goods to customers.

To effectively protect high-value or fragile products (such as cosmetics and electronic devices), EPS foam packaging is widely used as a filling and cushioning material. However, these high-performance and cost-effective packaging materials tend to accumulate in large quantities in logistics warehouses, posing a significant challenge for management. As a result, finding an effective EPS recycling solution has become an urgent necessity.

When goods are received in warehouses, some products require unpacking and inspection, and EPS foam packaging is often discarded, becoming the initial waste in the facility. During repackaging or box replacement, a large amount of EPS foam scraps and offcuts are also generated.

Additionally, e-commerce platforms have a high return rate, especially in categories such as home appliances and electronics, where EPS foam is widely used as shock-absorbing protection material. As a result, the return process further exacerbates foam waste accumulation.

Large logistics and distribution warehouses handle tens of thousands of orders daily, potentially generating over 100 tons of EPS foam waste per month. The accumulation of foam not only takes up valuable storage space and affects on-site 5S management but also poses a fire hazard, ultimately reducing operational efficiency.

An EPS densifier is an ideal solution to effectively compress foam waste, optimize storage space from the source, and increase recycling efficiency. It enables logistics and distribution centers to efficiently manage EPS recycling challenges and enhance overall operational performance.

An EPS densifier is a specialized polystyrene recycling machine designed to efficiently compress EPS foam into melted ingots, significantly reducing manual handling costs. This foam recycling machine is ideal for processing large volumes of EPS foam, with a capacity of 300 kg per hour and a high degree of automation.

This EPS recycling system includes a polystyrene shredder, an EPS densifier, and a large silo, all interconnected through a piping system. This flexible design allows for efficient processing of large amounts of waste while accommodating various space planning requirements.

For customers handling high volumes of EPS waste but with limited factory space, GREENMAX recycling system offers an optimized layout: the polystyrene shredder is installed near the waste accumulation point, while the EPS densifier is placed elsewhere. The system operates seamlessly through a combination of pipelines and blowers, ensuring efficient polystyrene recycling while maximizing space utilization.

Traditional EPS disposal methods (such as landfilling or relying on recyclers) are costly and inefficient. Therefore, self-built EPS recycling system is gradually becoming the best solution for logistics warehouses and distribution centers.

By using an EPS densifier, EPS foam can be compressed to 1/90 of its original volume, significantly reducing storage space usage and lowering per-unit logistics costs. Additionally, the compacted foam can be sold to GREENMAX or other downstream recyclers, enabling profitable polystyrene recycling.

This recycling system operates with a polystyrene shredder and an EPS densifier running separately, with the option to customize large silos. The shredded, uniform EPS foam pieces are transported through pipelines into the silo, and once the silo is full, the densification process begins. By separating the shredding and densification functions, this system optimizes space utilization while reducing energy costs.

Additionally, the polystyrene shredder can be customized with a large feed opening to accommodate various sizes of EPS foam packaging, meeting diverse recycling needs.
