Optimized Foam Crusher, Better EPP Recycling Results!

Expanded polypropylene (EPP) is a high-performance material widely used in industries such as transportation, automotive, and healthcare. Due to the varying functional requirements for foam shape, size, and structure across different applications, mold factories typically need to perform foam molding of EPP materials to produce customized products.

During this production process, a large amount of EPP foam waste is often generated—for example, trimming scraps from cutting processes or defective products caused by under-expansion, deformation, or damage.

If left to accumulate, this waste can take up valuable storage space in the factory, increase production costs, and even disrupt normal production flow. In such cases, it is highly recommended to install an EPP densifier on-site for efficient EPP recycling.

This EPP densifier integrates both crushing and compacting functions, using high-temperature thermal melting to compress EPP foam into dense blocks. With a compact design, it is easy to move and requires minimal factory space, enabling timely processing of accumulated EPP waste and improving overall production efficiency.

EPP foam typically has a density ranging from 30 to 150 kg/m³ and features high hardness and toughness. Its elasticity often causes standard cutting tools to deflect or rebound, leading to ineffective shredding or clumping during processing.

Additionally, with a melting point between 130–170 °C, EPP requires precise thermal control. Ordinary EPP recycling machine may struggle with issues such as scorching or incomplete melting, which can compromise both compression performance and the quality of the recycled material.

To address the challenges in EPP recycling, GREENMAX has specially upgraded its EPP densifier for enhanced performance. To improve shredding efficiency, the foam crusher is equipped with a dual-blade system featuring a robust, wear-resistant, and sharp structure, along with a serrated design that enhances both crushing and material gripping capabilities.

Additionally, a high-torque motor provides continuous and powerful shearing force, ensuring more uniform crushing results. For high-density foam materials, GREENMAX has integrated a screw frequency control system, allowing precise adjustment of the screw speed to strike the optimal balance between melting performance and production output — significantly enhancing the machine’s thermal densification efficiency.

If the shredded EPP particles are too large or irregular in shape, it can reduce compression density and may even cause brief blockages in the EPP densifier. For pelletizing lines, this inconsistency may also affect the uniformity of melting and final pellet quality.

To address this, optimizing the foam crusher helps ensure more consistent particle size and improved processing efficiency — significantly enhancing the overall EPP recycling system's stability and throughput.

On the other hand, since the EPP recycling machine uses a high-temperature thermal melting process, some odor emissions are inevitable during operation. However, the GREENMAX EPP densifier has passed SGS odor certification, ensuring it is safe for both human health and the environment.

Additionally, an optional exhaust purification system can be installed to further minimize odors, creating a cleaner and more comfortable working environment.

If you need EPP recycling but have limited factory space, the GREENMAX EPP densifier M-C50 is an ideal solution. Its compact design makes it easy to install and operate without occupying much room.

In addition, GREENMAX also offers customized recycling solutions tailored to your specific production needs.
