Orange Bags to Recycle Styrofoam in Chattanooga, Tennessee
The Hefty® EnergyBag® Program is a method of supplementing current recycling efforts. Because current recycling services do not reach all recyclable materials, some environmental groups have come up with the idea of collecting otherwise hard-to-recycle plastics like Styrofoam at the roadside as a valuable renewable resource. Recently, this program just expanded to Hamilton and Bradley County. And residents in Chattanooga are allowed to recycle their Styrofoam waste into orange bags.
Chattanooga, the same as other cities, is a city which is a highly modern city, that also produces much Styrofoam waste every year. Various Styrofoam products are created and produced to provide a more convenient life for people. In comparison, the way people used to dispose of Styrofoam waste leads to a bad influence on our environment. The reports of recent years have proved that plastic pieces appeared in the oceans, lakes, soil, and even human bodies. The urban landfills are filled with Styrofoam waste. Its huge volume has occupied too much space, leaving no room for biodegradable other rubbish. It’s time to deal with waste Styrofoam and recycle it.
Since last week, many Chattanooga residents have started receiving orange bags from the Hefty® EnergyBag®. There is a lot of enthusiasm for recycling in Chattanooga. Because Chattanooga is one of five communities in the country participating in the recycling program. And Chattanooga's recycling results are remarkable: to date, the program has helped divert more than 2,000 tons of hard-to-recycle plastic from landfills. Additionally, in 2021, Chattanooga residents received funding for sustainable and recycled asphalt and pilot competitions and piloted the Hefty® EnergyBag® Program. Then Chattanooga resident Brian Wright received funding for a sustainable and recycled asphalt and pilot competition in 2021 to pilot the Hefty EnergyBag program. The pilot program yielded impressive recycling data, so more than 200,000 households can now participate in the Hefty® EnergyBag® program.
All recycled plastic is sorted. Styrofoam packaging, boxes, or containers can all be recycled. Recycling Styrofoam means less harmful waste, as well as recycling resources. Waste Styrofoam is compressed into a transportable block form by Styrofoam recycling machines and finally sent to the recycling line to make a variety of new plastic products. INTCO Recycling is pleased to see more and more cities, countries, and industries joining Styrofoam recycling. Meanwhile, as the most experienced manufacturer of Styrofoam recycling machines, INTCO offers a wide range of recycling services.
