Styrofoam Recycling becomes more Widespread
Over the past eight months, the Foam Recycling Alliance and the Vinyl Institute have awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to improve recycling and reuse systems for recyclable materials like Styrofoam.
The Foam Recycling Alliance has awarded a total of 34 grants to regions to purchase and install Styrofoam recycling equipment to make Styrofoam recycling more efficient and convenient. The Foam Recycling Alliance awarded $50,000 each to Goodwill’s Green Works and Ohio’s Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District to purchase the Styrofoam compactor. In addition, the Foam Recycling Alliance has awarded grants to three other Styrofoam recycling organizations in the past eight months. These grants create an enabling environment for Styrofoam recycling to flourish.
Styrofoam is a challenging material from a waste management perspective, mainly because it is 90% air, bulky and lightweight. An entire box truck full of Styrofoam probably doesn't even weigh a ton. However, if a professional Styrofoam compactor is used, Styrofoam recycling can be easily accomplished and bring high returns to the company. Recycled foam is very popular in the recycling market, and its price is much higher than that of recyclable materials such as cardboard. As the market for sustainable products continues to grow, opportunities to use recycled Styrofoam will increase in various industries such as construction, packaging and insulation. Now, many countries require the use of a certain proportion of recycled foam materials in the production of foam products.
GREENMAX Styrofoam compactor Apolo Series, part of INTCO Recycling, can easily turn waste foam into high-quality recycled materials, turning waste into treasure and bringing considerable additional income to the company. The Styrofoam compactor is equipped with screw compression technology that can compress foam to one-fiftieth of its original volume without any odor contamination. Foam with a higher water content will not have any impact on the working effect of the equipment, and is very suitable for recycling foam such as fruit and vegetable boxes or fish boxes. The compressed foam can be sold to local recyclers for profit. If you don’t want to spend time and energy looking for downstream buyers, INTCO Recycling can provide foam buyback services at favorable prices. In this way, the return on investment of the Styrofoam compactor can be quickly achieved and a continuous income project can be created.
The Styrofoam compactor is an essential piece of equipment in the Styrofoam recycling process, contributing to a more sustainable waste management system and reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste.
