UNEP Recognize EPS Recycling Packaging is Feasible
United Nations Environment Program plastic pollution science report has recognized that expanded polystyrene (EPS) packaging material can be recycled on a large scale.
The report notes that a handful of polymers in packaging form can be recycled in practice and at scale, including EPS foam packaging, which is used to protect high-value and fragile products. The Global EPS Sustainability Alliance (GESA) advocates the responsible use of EPS packaging materials and researches and develops scientific EPS packaging recycling. EPS plays an important role in industries such as packaging, construction, transportation, and automotive. The improper recycling of EPS packaging materials not only causes a great burden on the environment but also is an enormous waste of renewable resources. Actually, EPS packaging recycling has been implemented in many countries and regions, not only confirming the recyclability of EPS, but also forming a benign recycling system for foam packaging.
EPS packaging recycling decomposes waste foam into pellet form, which will be reapplied into the production of various plastic products, forming a close loop of recycling. However, due to the large size and light weight of EPS packaging materials, it is necessary to use a professional EPS compactor for the volume reduction process, saving a lot of transportation costs. INTCO Recycling EPS compactor can compress foam packaging waste into foam blocks at the ratio of 50:1, which is safe to operate and has a high degree of automation. A 40-foot-high container can hold 13-20 tons of EPS blocks, improving the efficiency of transportation greatly.
INTCO Recycling EPS compactor uses screw compaction technology to process EPS waste through physical compression without affecting the quality of foam blocks, and can efficiently process waste with high water content, such as fish boxes, fruit and vegetable boxes, etc. In order to make the EPS packaging recycling process smoother, the EPS recycling equipment is equipped with a disk detection device, which not only prevents melting, but also measures the discharge length and automatically cuts off foam blocks. INTCO Recycling also provides after-sales and maintenance services for machines, including installation guidance, employee training, etc. If you have any questions, we will provide timely responses. In addition, INTCO Recycling will conduct frequent on-site visits to companies that use the EPS compactor to understand the real usage and feedback of customers, so as to improve the performance of the machine for better EPS packaging recycling.
In addition to the professional EPS compactor, INTCO Recycling as a global leader in high-tech manufacturing through recycled materials, also provides the sales solution of EPS foam blocks for our machine customers. We will purchase these EPS blocks at a preference price or provide other sales channels for customers. INTCO Recycling has formed a close-loop system of EPS packaging recycling, converting waste EPS packaging waste into beautiful recycled products, such as mirror frames, environmentally friendly floors, and baseboard decoration.
